Diversity Policy

General Purpose: The Dayton Playhouse’s policy is to promote and ensure equal opportunity for all persons regardless of race, color, gender, national origin, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, veteran’s or any other legally-protected status. We value every volunteer and performer’s contribution to the organization and recognize the strength of bringing together people with an array of talents, experiences, and perspectives.

Policy: The Dayton Playhouse values a diverse community and promotes diversity. We understand that an organization that reflects the community it serves enriches the organization and places it in a more competitive position.

The Dayton Playhouse’s commitment to provide a positive artistic environment is also reflected in our policies prohibiting sexual and other forms of harassment.

The Dayton Playhouse aspires to create and foster an environment where our culture mirrors our policies, so that no person will be advantaged or disadvantaged because of any factor unrelated to their artistic or volunteer performance. Additionally, the organization’s goal is that no person will have cause to feel intimidated, threatened or harassed because of race, gender, or on any other basis prohibited by law.

It is our intent that every volunteer, performer and board member comply with this policy. Actual or suspected violations of this policy should be reported to a board member immediately. There will be no retaliatory action against any person for participating in an investigation of or reporting a suspected violation of this policy.
