Dawn Roth Smith: By day Dawn works with Mile Two as an Office Coordinator. She is a familiar face around the Dayton Theatre Community. Some of her on-stage credits include: Sister Teresa in Sister Act, Mrs. Fezziwig in Scrooge, Grandma Addams in The Addams Family, and Carol in Laughter on the 23rd Floor. She has also stage managed and directed* several productions. Aaron Sorkin’s To Kill A Mockingbird, *Man of La Mancha, Murder on The Nile, *Of Men and Cars (2018 FutureFest Winning Script), *Fall With Me (2019 FutureFest Winning Script), Ragtime!, and My Fair Lady are just a few of the productions she’s worked on. She’d like to thank Jennifer Lockwood, Fran Pesch, and all of the FutureFest Reading Committee Members, we wouldn’t have this festival without all of you.

Matt Lackey: is excited to participate behind the scenes on FutureFest for the third time. In the last 25 years he’s worked with teams of beautiful dreamers on theatre, film, and video projects in Ohio, Texas, and California. He hopes you’ll continue to support FutureFest, the Dayton Playhouse, and theatre in Dayton. Save him the aisle seat.

Aaron Brewer: (Nicholas) Aaron is thrilled to be playing the role of Nicholas in his first Future Fest. Past performance credits: The Shadow Box (Mark), Bonnie and Clyde (Ted), American Idiot (Will), Dog Sees God (Beethoven). Past directing credits: The Humans, And Then There Were None, Heathers the Musical, Five Women Wearing the Same Dress. Aaron has earned multiple Daytony Awards for performance/production work. He wants to thank his boyfriend, family, and friends for their love and support.

Erin Waldron: (Starla) Erin is an alumnus of the theatre program at Sinclair Community College. Her favorite stage credits include: Aunt Em in The Wiz, Lucy in A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Betsy in As It Is In Heaven. She advanced to the final round of the Irene Ryan acting competition at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Indianapolis, where she was awarded the Selector’s Award for Comedy. She’s thrilled to get back into theatre and would like to thank her friends and family for their support!

Pam McGinnis: (Berenice) Pam McGinnis is heading into her fourth decade of community theater. She served on the board of directors here at the Dayton Playhouse and loves the concept behind FutureFest. In her earlier days, Pam usually starred in musicals including Hello Dolly, Mame and Urinetown. Over time she has felt a pull to straight theater. Some favorite roles include Martha in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf and Eleanor of Aquitaine in Lion in Winter and Bracha in The Interview, a previous FutureFest favorite. Enjoy Otis. It’s fun and thought provoking.

Ted Eltzroth: (Alfred) Ted is a retired math teacher who began his theater involvement over 30 years ago with Kettering Theatre Under the Stars. Since that time he has been in over ninety plays and musicals in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Kansas. His most recent endeavor was playing Sancho in the 2020 Dayton Playhouse production of Man of La Mancha. Other favorite roles include Inspector Kemp in Young Frankenstein, Dr. Neville Craven in The Secret Garden, and Cocky in The Roar of the Greasepaint, the Smell of the Crowd.

Jack Brunswick: (Bodhi) Jack currently attends Ohio State University, where he studies Computer Science. Prior to Otis, Jack has performed in the Beavercreek High School productions of Peter and the Starcatcher and The Mouse That Roared. This is his first time performing with the Dayton Playhouse. Additionally, he plays the part of Rob in Shylock the First, another play being produced as a part of FutureFest. Outside of performing, Jack also maintains an interest in exploring abandoned structures; these are documented in a series of videos wherein he eats cereal in said abandoned structures, featured on his YouTube channel, CeRaoul.

The part of Carlo was portrayed by Angel Warrick, with the consent of her loving family.
