My Fair Lady Kicks Off Dayton Playhouse 60th!

The Dayton Playhouse is excited to kick off its 60th anniversary season with Lerner and Loewe’s beautiful musical My Fair Lady! Save the mileage to NYC and see this gorgeous show right here near home.

Based on George Bernard Shaw’s classic Pygmalion, My Fair Lady is the story of a cockney flower girl whose path crosses with a stuffy British linguist focused on proving he can transform Ms. Doolittle into a lady. My Fair Lady features such well-known tunes as “Get Me to the Church On Time”, “I Could Have Danced All Night” and “The Rain in Spain”.

Director Brian Sharp has put together a phenomenal cast including veteran actor David Shough as Henry Higgins, popular area actor Brad Bishop as Mr. Doolittle and Sarah Viola as Eliza Doolittle. The San Francisco Conservatory of Music grad will “wow the audience”, according to Sharp.

My Fair Lady runs Sept. 14 – 30. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sundays. This is the first time a community theater has staged My Fair Lady so tickets will go fast. Audiences will love the new carpet, paint and seating completed in time to celebrate the 60th anniversary of bringing great theater to the Dayton area.
